“Peace is not absence of conflict, it is the ability to handle conflict by peaceful means.”
- Ronald Reagan
UNITED NATION SECURITY COUNCIL’S BIGGEST CHALLENGE HAS BEEN DEALING with conflicts WITHOUT OFFENDING THE NATIONAL SOVEREIGNTY OF ITS MEMBER STATES. A DAUNTING TASK THAT LIES AHEAD OF YOU - TO INTERVENE OR NOT TO INTERVENE IN A NATION’S INTERNAL AFFAIRS. THE UN ALLOWS THE COUNCIL TO "DETERMINE THE EXISTENCE OF ANY THREAT TO THE PEACE, BREACH OF THE PEACE, OR ACT OF AGGRESSION" AND TO TAKE MILITARY AND NONMILITARY ACTION TO "RESTORE INTERNATIONAL PEACE AND SECURITY".
THE AIM OF THIS COMMITTEE IS TO HIGHLIGHT THE RESPONSIBILITY OF SOVEREIGNTY, THE OBLIGATION OF DEVELOPED COUNTRIES AND TO DISCUSS REFORMS IN THE UNSC.
Agenda : Tackling encroachment of Foreign States upon a Nation’s Sovereignty with
respect to Israel - Palestine Conflict.
Reserve Agenda : Reforms to the UNSC
